beauty, fashion and more

Hi again, I'm back with another outfit post which I wore yesterday night for dinner with friends. I actually did something I NEVER do before and that is plan my outfit from the night before AND did not change it (at all!!!). This was because I knew I had to be at dinner exactly an hour after work and this realllyyyy didn't give me any time for my usual, 'try on 5 outfits and go back to the first one' routine. So I ironed these Zara trousers (which were a spot on gift from my girl Sarah) and picked out the top the night before. And for once I actually stuck to the plan😳 Anyone else also have a funny habit of being annoyingly indesicive with outfits😅

Top is "exclusive" (LOL) from my mother in law's shop, she only got one for me! And wedges are Aldo from quite a few summers back!

Until next time Xx

Hi! Here's an outfit post for you❤️ I wore this Saturday night to dinner with Malcolm. We had Chinese at TemptAsian and boyyy it was good.
I found this shirt in my wardrobe's 'archives' A.K.A I bought it a while back and forgot I did. I either wear whatever I buy the next day (inzanzan!) or toss it in my wardrobe and forget about it, usually because I wouldn't have an outfit in mind or end up not having anything to wear it with. I'm making an effort to stop doing this and in fact lately I've been really trying to mix it up and step out of my comfort zone (pushing myself to wear items I bought impulsively!!).

Outfit details:
Top: Bershka
Jeans: Stradivarius
Wedges: Shoeniverse Mosta

Earrings: Stradivarius
Necklace: Bijou Michiko

I love statement earrings especially with a more simple look like this one!

That's all for today, I hope you have had a pleasant weekend and I wish you a good week!

Hello again!

I'm back with my second 'batch' of outfits from our Amalfi trip. I thought I would separate them in two blog posts since there's quite a few and a long blog post is never fun to read.

Outfit #1

I'm going to start off with a favourite of mine, again something I bought from Antica Sartoria, and again something you will get tired of seeing on my instagram probably because I'm obsessed. Sorry not sorry kinda thing.

I understand how this might not be everyone's cup of tea but GOD is it mine. I loved this print so much I even got it in a scarf which I'm so excited to style too!

Top: Antica Sartoria
Shorts: Calliope
Sandals: Downunder
Hat: Souvenir shop in Amalfi

Outfit #2

This dress was *drumroll* 5.99, surprise surprise. To be honest, this was quite the impulse purchase, the good thing is that it doesn't matter because it costs less than McDonalds meal. It's the kind of dress you buy because everyone on instagram seems to be wearing something similar (don't deny you don't do this ok, we all do, at least subconsciously!!!). I definitely would have preferred the look of it paired with heels (maybe red?) but it's nice to explore before/after dinner when you're on holiday and it's not nice to do that in heels. So flats it was.
Dress: 1 to 5
Bag: Guess
Sandals: Downunder
Lipstick: Chanel liquid lipstick
Earrings:  Parfois (I think!)

Outfit #3

My outfit for Positano! This dress was super light and perfect to throw on a bikini but still look put together. I didn't swim with the scarf around my neck in case you're wondering! I love scarves lately, they really change an outfit and add something different.

Dress: Calliope
Scarf: Mixel Boutique

Outfit #4

Lastly, this outfit is pretty much the last one worth documenting (the last 2 involved a lot of travelling and my general appearance was not worth documenting, to say the least). I've been obsessed over dresses you throw on over bikinis lately and my mother-in-law caught on to that (they own a clothes shop so I'm a very lucky gal) and got me this beautiful crochet dress. I'm not sure if you can find this one specifically in the shop as she doesn't tend to put the pieces she gets for me in the shop as well. But you might as well have a look as she might have similar ;)

Crochet dress: Mixel Boutique
Hat: Amalfi Souvenir shop
Bikini: not shown in photo but it's from Kiabi.

Thank you so much for reading. Please let me know if you enjoyed this kind of blog post, and if you would like to see more posts similar to it!

As you may have seen (numerous times, in great detail) if you follow me on instagram, we recently visited the Amalfi Coast.
Now, I was very excited for the trip itself but as many other girls out there, one of the things I was extreeeemely excited about is the outfits and photos (I am not mentioning the food because I'd probably be stating obvious facts!).

I've decided it would be a good idea to show you the outfits I wore and talk about them in some detail here, seeing as I don't really tag where the outfits are from on instagram - reason being that some places don't have instagram so it becomes a bit misleading if I just tag 1 item of clothing out of say, three.

Without further rambling, here are a few outfits I wore this past week!

Outfit #1:

This is the outfit I wore for the airport, very simple and not really that stylish but I wanted something comfortable as we had to do quite a bit of travelling on the first day. These jeans were SO comfortable, and an absolute steal on sale too!

Shirt: Kiabi
Jeans: Calliope
Belt: Kiabi
Shoes: Downunder

Outfit #2

I wore this outfit for the first day we arrived in Amalfi. It's the first time I've worn shorts in AGES. I absolutely hate wearing shorts usually but these are so comfortable and I really wanted to give shorts a chance again haha! And let me tell you, these bad boys did not let me down. Albeit making me look a size bigger (and boy I do NOT need to look a size bigger), I still enjoyed wearing them because they're so comfortable and it's always good to try something different.

Top: Calliope
Bottoms: Calliope
Sandals: Downunder (linked above)
Bag: Mixel Boutique
Sunglasses: Ebay

Outfit #3

Here I am wearing those shorts again, I told you they're comfortable! The shirt is from 1 to 5. Yes, that shop in front of Tal Lira. I always cringe when people ask where a piece of clothing is and it's from there, although I really shouldn't. I love branded pieces as much as the next guy but is there anything more satisfying than buying something that looks triple the price you actually paid for? Most pieces from there are 5.99! It's crazy. You do have to pick and choose what you buy because obviously some material can vary, but this shirt is so light and comfortable, perfect for the hot Amalfi sun.

Hat: Amalfi Souvenir shop
Top: 1 to 5
Earrings: Ebay

Outfit #4

Hands down my favourite look (that's a lie, one of two of my favourite looks). I didn't pack this shirt, I bought it from here. These little shops are everywhere in Amalfi and they are literally little pieces of heaven for a print lover like me. This shirt dress specifically is a bit see-through as a imagine it should be worn over a bikini, but why waste such a beautiful piece to go to the beach in, only to chuck it into my beach bag the second my feet touch sand? I wore this over shorts however next time round I'll wear it over a basic dress.
P.S. It isn't actually off-shoulder, it's a normal shirt dress but I wore it this way as it felt more girly.

I have a few more outfits to show you however I think that should be saved for another blog post for another time.

Thanks for reading!

Hello everyone! I'm finally back with a new post all about my favourite lipsticks at the moment.
First off is Rimmel Apocalips Lip velvet matte in 206 atomic rose. In my opinion I find liquid lipsticks a bit trickier to use especially since you need to wait for them to dry and I just find that there's always too much product on the wand  but with this one I dont have thay problem. There isnt too much product on the wand and its easy to apply, however this might be since its a light shade. I usually pair this up with a lipliner by essence in the shade 11 "in the nude".

I don't usually sport such light colours but I've noticed all I ever wear is nudes and reds and I've made it a point to be just a bit more adventurous. This is also matte which I love!

Next colour I am completely in love with and i have been for a while now. It was actually featured in my last blog post!

This is one of the shades from the latest La Petite Robe Moire collection by Guerlain in the shadd "041". I don't apply any lipliner on most days with it because I don't want to darken or change the colour with lipliner underneath.  It feels very soft on the lips but it doesnt run! I love it soo much!

Next lipstick is probably my holy grail nude.

It's the BeYu Pure Colour and Stay lipstick in 330 with the Beyu lipliner in 529. The formula is simply amazing. It moisturises the lips but also has a matte finish.

Last colour has not actually been released yet and it's one of the shades in the new Chanel Ink liquid lipstick collection.

This is in the colour 152 Choquant. As mentioned, liquid lipsticks can be a big tricky to apply, especially if the colour is dark so I apply Sisley lipliner in Ruby underneath. I adore this lipliner. It goes on so well on the lips and lasts for so long. It doesn't dry out the lips and the colour is the perfect shade of red. I'm soo sad because it's almost finished as you can see.

This liquid lipstick feels really light on the lips and it dries matte without cracking them.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and let me know what your holy grail lipsticks are!

Hello everyone! I have a different kind of blog post for you today and it's a review of something I've been wanting to do for a while.
Before I get into the details, here's a picture of me conviently and most "naturally" looking out at the view...

As you obviously guessed by the title, it's afternoon tea! This isn't simply having a cup of tea (or tazza te) after noon, but rather it's classic english tea with scones and such.

I'm sure there are other places that do such "high tea" but we chose Corinthia Hotel and I'm so pleased we did.
The food was wonderful and the staff was just as lovely. Especially since they readily swapped the salami and gammon in the sandwiches (because I don't eat meat) with brie/cucumber and tomato/eggplant.

After the sandwiches we had scones with jam, clotted cream and fresh fruit as well as fruit cake.

Last on the menu was desert. We had the mostttttt delicious caramel and walnut barquette, one white chocolate ball and one dark chocolate ball (sounds funny but I don't know what else to call them!). And also a small cheesecake with the smallest little spoon!

Here's a picture of us looking very pleased with the fact we can't move after all the food!

The waitress also was kind enough to reserve the seat with a lovely view of the pool for us when we booked in advance.

In case you're interested, here's the link to more information about the menu etc.

Thank you for reading!

Can I have my name on a front row seat and look at the season's newest trends everyday?
I had the pleasure of attending the B Fashion Show last Thursday organised by Baystreet Shopping Complex featuring a lot of the new collections found at most shops there. It was a wonderful evening!

It started off with prosecco, nibbles and a lot of pictures. As we found our seats we found a little goodie bag full of discount vouchers as well as a few treats from the sponsors which was so exciting!

The first show featured Original Marines which was super super cute. Children modeling has to be the most adorable thing ever. Seeing the shy ones and the ones enjoying the spotlight made me think how I would have definitely been one of the shy ones wishing mum was on the catwalk with me so I could hide behind her LOL.

After that came all the other brands including Pedro Del Hierro, Cortefiel, Guess and amongst them ALDO! It was fun watching the shoes I see every other day at work being modelled haha!

One of my favourite looks have to be the prettiest yellow dress I've seen in a while from Pedro Del Hierro and an another one from Misto (pictured below!)  However I was pretty much lusting over most items shown, and having said that- I am SO ready to completely ditch any kind of cardigan or jacket and bring in the maxi dresses!!!

On another note however, despite being in the front row and since this was my first fashion show, I came to realise just how difficult it is to capture a decent picture that is NOT blurry. Amateur much Laila?!

Last but not least came Women's Secret - VERY girly and VERY cute! We're talking heart shaped balloons floating up into the sky kind of cute! It really wrapped the evening up nicely.

Here are a few more pictures from the night!

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post! Let me know what you think x

Love, Laila x

Pssst! Would like to thank the marketing team at Baystreet Shopping Complex for the invite!
