beauty, fashion and more

Hello everyone! I have a different kind of blog post for you today and it's a review of something I've been wanting to do for a while.
Before I get into the details, here's a picture of me conviently and most "naturally" looking out at the view...

As you obviously guessed by the title, it's afternoon tea! This isn't simply having a cup of tea (or tazza te) after noon, but rather it's classic english tea with scones and such.

I'm sure there are other places that do such "high tea" but we chose Corinthia Hotel and I'm so pleased we did.
The food was wonderful and the staff was just as lovely. Especially since they readily swapped the salami and gammon in the sandwiches (because I don't eat meat) with brie/cucumber and tomato/eggplant.

After the sandwiches we had scones with jam, clotted cream and fresh fruit as well as fruit cake.

Last on the menu was desert. We had the mostttttt delicious caramel and walnut barquette, one white chocolate ball and one dark chocolate ball (sounds funny but I don't know what else to call them!). And also a small cheesecake with the smallest little spoon!

Here's a picture of us looking very pleased with the fact we can't move after all the food!

The waitress also was kind enough to reserve the seat with a lovely view of the pool for us when we booked in advance.

In case you're interested, here's the link to more information about the menu etc.

Thank you for reading!
Love, Laila x

Can I have my name on a front row seat and look at the season's newest trends everyday?
I had the pleasure of attending the B Fashion Show last Thursday organised by Baystreet Shopping Complex featuring a lot of the new collections found at most shops there. It was a wonderful evening!

It started off with prosecco, nibbles and a lot of pictures. As we found our seats we found a little goodie bag full of discount vouchers as well as a few treats from the sponsors which was so exciting!

The first show featured Original Marines which was super super cute. Children modeling has to be the most adorable thing ever. Seeing the shy ones and the ones enjoying the spotlight made me think how I would have definitely been one of the shy ones wishing mum was on the catwalk with me so I could hide behind her LOL.

After that came all the other brands including Pedro Del Hierro, Cortefiel, Guess and amongst them ALDO! It was fun watching the shoes I see every other day at work being modelled haha!

One of my favourite looks have to be the prettiest yellow dress I've seen in a while from Pedro Del Hierro and an another one from Misto (pictured below!)  However I was pretty much lusting over most items shown, and having said that- I am SO ready to completely ditch any kind of cardigan or jacket and bring in the maxi dresses!!!

On another note however, despite being in the front row and since this was my first fashion show, I came to realise just how difficult it is to capture a decent picture that is NOT blurry. Amateur much Laila?!

Last but not least came Women's Secret - VERY girly and VERY cute! We're talking heart shaped balloons floating up into the sky kind of cute! It really wrapped the evening up nicely.

Here are a few more pictures from the night!

I really hope you enjoyed this blog post! Let me know what you think x

Pssst! Would like to thank the marketing team at Baystreet Shopping Complex for the invite!

Hello everyone! Today's blogpost is about The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. I've been using this for quite a while now and I absolutely love it so I thought I'd share my views on it!

On The Body Shop website it says:

Cleanse and nourish your skin with our rich cleansing butter. A luxurious way to remove every last trace of make-up, while purifying, cleansing and refreshing your skin, leaving it soft to the touch.
  • Suitable for sensitive skin, and contact lens wearers
  • Camomile extract from Norfolk, England
  • Clean and silky-soft feel
  • Removes all types of make-up

And I can honestly say it really does all that! Before I tried this product out, I found myself reaching for bi-phase make up removers because I thought that 1) they were the quickest and 2) they were the only kind of make up removers that got waterproof makeup off properly. I was so wrong however! Not only does this butter take off my makeup SUPER quickly (raise your hand if you're super lazy with your skincare routine like me?!), but it also takes off waterproof makeup super easily. It has a super soft texture and melts from a butter to a more oily texturr which I LOVE.

So, how do I use it? This was the first question I asked the lady at the shop when she introduced me to it. Do I apply it on a cotton wool tab, or straight to my face? After using it for around 2 months now, I found out that my favourite and easiest way is to apply it straight to my face, massage it all over and then wipe my face with a warm cloth. My make up literally slides off after a minute!

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost! Until next time!

Love, Laila xo
